Where Does Wombat Sleep?
On their very first camping trip in the bush, your child spots a wombat by the campfire — and sets off to solve a cosy nighttime mystery: where does it sleep?
Here's one we made for Zoe

"Here we are, Zoe!" said Grandpa, dropping his bag. "Our very first camping trip."
Zoe looked around. "Is this where we sleep?"
"Right here in the bush," Grandpa smiled. "But first, we need to pitch our tent."
Together, Zoe and Grandpa unpacked the poles and hammered the pegs into the ground.

The campfire crackled. Then something stirred in the bushes.
RUSTLE. RUSTLE. RUSTLE.
"Look," Grandpa whispered. "A wombat."
Zoe turned. At the edge of the firelight, a round furry face peeked out of the leaves and munched a mouthful of grass. She watched in awe until her eyes finally grew heavy.
"I'll see you tomorrow," she yawned. "Goodnight, Wombat."

The next morning, Zoe woke up early, excited to say good morning to her new wombat friend.
But when she unzipped the tent door, the campsite was empty. The wombat was gone!
She looked under the picnic table. She checked behind the billy can.
"Grandpa," she asked, "where did the wombat go? Didn't it stay for breakfast?"
